The motherboard
is the central hub of all the attachments. It acts like a catalyst in the
working of your computer. It actually does not do any thing, but still it is
required. The mother board holds the processor chip and all the hardware is
connected to one another via the motherboard. It is the reason why your system
works in equilibrium. But at times your mother board can stop your PC from
working properly. Then, the best way to deal with this problem is to replace
it.
Here are some steps how to replace the motherboard:
- First un-plug your PC from the power mains. Remove all the connections going to the CPU and from the CPU to the peripherals. After that is done pick up you CPU and bring it in a clearing. This helps in making the work easier. (Never work in cramped places)
- Get hold of a neat set of screwdrivers to remove all sorts of screws. Open the CPU and start to unplug the IDEs and buses from the mother board. Remove all the adapters and internal cables. Remember to remove them carefully. (Do not increase the work complications as much as possible).
- After you have cleared the mother board of all the wires and AV cards and pins. Then remove the heat sink. This is to be done very carefully. As the processor lies below it. This is bit tricky job.
- After you have done all this. Remove all the screws that attach the mother board to the metal frame. Make sure that you keep them properly because the replacement mother board will not come with the crews.
- Now take the new mother board and fix it in the place of the older Mother Board. (make sure you have bought the replacement of the same make as the older)
- Now connect and place all the attachments on the board. Do it with utmost care and attentively. Because if you do this is hustle then chances are that you PC might not work this time it will be some other problem and you might be the reason .
- After you have connected all the buses and cards and cables. Reassemble your PC. Properly connect the peripherals and the hardware to the PC. Connect it to the power main and check if your PC starts working.
